HELLO AND WELCOME…
Good evening and welcome to our compilation cabaret for 2025 “Dedicated”.
After the success of “13” in March, we wanted something to bridge the gap before we start work on our main production for 2026, “Joseph & The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat”.
The musical films we are celebrating tonight are iconic and have been great fun to rehearse.
"The Greatest Showman" beautifully celebrates the triumph of individuality and the remarkable power of dreams through its performances and heartfelt storytelling. Thecaptivating musical numbers and dynamic choreography contribute to an engaging experience that resonates with audiences of all ages.
"Tangled" is a modern animated retelling of the classic fairy tale about Rapunzel, the film presents a fresh perspective on the iconic story and is filled with enchanting songs.
"Heathers: The Musical" is a darkly comedic rock adaptation that delves deeply into the complex themes of teenage angst, and the often-tumultuous struggles of identity all within the unique and challenging environment of a high school setting. Its has already become a cult classic in the musical theatre world.
"Newsies," the compelling musical, vividly brings to life the inspiring and heartfelt story of young newspaper sellers who bravely fight for fair treatment and essential workers' rights in the bustling streets of early 20th century New York City.
Everything you see tonight is the result of only 11 rehearsals (and a couple of hours in the theatre today) and once again the members of Starlight have amazed me with their talent and teamwork. As always, a big thank you to our team who have assisted us with their expertise and support; Tim Edwards our lighting designer, and Dan Tigg our sound engineer, along with Peter Ward, Peter Cocup, Georgina Self Ryan Tait, and Katie Roberts.
From September we will start rehearsals for our 2026 musical “Joseph & The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat”.
This classic Andrew Lloyd Webber musical has a great score running through it and will be great fun to rehearse and perform.
.The production will be performed at the The Winston Churchill Theatre 25th-27th March 2026.

For young people aged 7-18 years old, specialising in all aspects of musical theatre.
Combining singing, dancing, and acting plus other stage skills.Performing full scale musicals alongside workshop performances throughout the year.
Starlight Youth Theatre Company is designed for all ages to mix and learn from each other, focusing on working as a team, gaining confidence through performing and creating a safe place for making new friends.
